2005 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Sherwin Ranjkesh is a 6-0, 170 lb senior right handed pitcher from Canada with a medium frame and slender build. He has a nice long, loose arm action with good downward angle to the plate on his pitches. Ranjkesh maintained his velocity well at 82-84 mph and had some late tailing life. His curveball ranged between 66 and 70 mph and had good downer bite the harder he threw the ball. He extended well out front on those pitches but did cast the ball from a less extended release point occasionally. He also threw a couple of upper 60's change ups. Ranjkesh was effectively wild around the plate and hitters didn't get many good swings at him. He could gain some more velocity with strength gains as his arm works well and he has solid mechanics.
