Ryan Avidano is a 2014 LHP/1B with a 6-7 215 lb. frame from Fayetteville, GA who attends Starrs Mill HS. Extra long and tall build. Tall delivery with a very short stride, short compact arm action, hides the ball well but lacks extension, gets downhill consistently. Mid 80's fastball topped at 87 mph, turns fastball over at lower velocities, fastball gets on hitters quickly. Curveball has hard bite and good angle, good pitch and throws with confidence and command, rare change up. Unusual mechanics but they work well for him and are deceptive. Showed athleticism defensively at first base, especially for his size. Left handed hitter, balanced stance, short swing and gets the barrel out, mid field line drive contact. Very good student, verbal commitment to Georgia.
