Joseph Gatto is a 2014 RHP/1B with a 6-5 215 lb. frame from Hammonton, NJ who attends St Augustine Prep. Outstanding athletic build, strong and well proportioned but still projectable. Balanced low effort delivery, bit cross body on release, deep fast arm circle, arm works very well coming through, hides ball effectively in back. Low 90's fastball topped out at 94 mph, very good arm side run and sink at times, filled up bottom of the zone with his fastball. Curveball flashes present plus spin and bite, sharp downer shape, knee buckler, also mixed in a few sliders with sharpness and enough depth to get off the barrel. All the ingredients are there; build, delivery, velocity, fastball life, hard breaking ball spin, command. Very impressive. Good student, verbal commitment to North Carolina. Selected to the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
