Ross Tendler is a 2006 PHP/3B with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame from Smyrna GA, who attends Campbell HS. He has a very athletic frame with good present strength and some projectability. Tendler throws from a standard 3/4's arm slot and a slow, balanced delivery. Tendler has a short arm action and gets very little use of his lower half, both of which hold back his velocity at bit. He topped out at 82 mph on his fastball but looked to us like he should be throwing harder given his natural arm speed and overall strength. Tendler's curveball was 68 mph but he's still developing consistency with its release and spin. As a pitcher, Tendler is raw but should improve with adjustments. As a position player, Tendler showed very good arm strength at third base and behind the plate. He has athletic actions and good defensive balance. At the plate, Tendler has a long stride approach and gets his weight moving toward the ball early. He has some loft in his swing and shows some bat speed and power potential. He uses his hands well in his swing and can drive the ball. Tendler could go either way with his baseball future, pitching or position prospect. He's a bit more advanced on the offensive side right now. Tendler is a good student off the field.
