Snyder has an excellent young pitcher’s body at 6-3, 205 lbs, with good even proportions and strength throughout. His best pitch that we saw in Lincoln was a hard 73-75 mph curveball thrown from a high ¾’s release point that gets a good downward bite to it. Snyder threw it a bit too much, maybe 50% of the time, but he has advanced command of the pitch and can throw it to spots. He was 84-85 mph in Lincoln and spotted his fastball to set up his curve. We have reliable reports that Snyder has thrown in the high 80s. He also throws a mid-70’s change up that shows a lot of promise. If Snyder shows that high 80s to 90 heater before next June, he’s going to get serious draft interest. If not, he will be a high level successful college pitcher before starting a pro career. Artie is a good student.
