Katten is a 6-0, 170 lb senior right handed pitcher from New York who also plays third base when he’s not pitching. He has a medium build with square shoulders that have some present strength. Katten threw 3 innings at the showcase. His fastball was 80-81 mph when he was pitching inside to right handed hitters and 77-78 when he was outside. Katten tends to pull across his body from his ¾’s release trying to get the ball to the outside half of the plate. His curveball was 66-69 mph and had a shorter slider type of break. Katten also enjoyed a good showcase at the plate, showing a quick bat in games and lining a couple of hits. He is a 8.00 runner in the 60 and threw 80 during infield drills.
