2004 Underclass National Showcase
Anthony Munson -- Munson is a 6-1 junior right hander with a projectable build. He has athletic actions and although he didn’t even list himself as a position player on the roster, showed us better bat speed and swing mechanics than many of the primary position players. Munson had a quick right arm on the mound that generated a fastball that topped out at 84 mph over 4 innings of work. His fastball had good running action into right handed hitters. Munson’s curveball was 68-69 mph with a sweeping break and he also showed a 74-76 mph change up. We like his arm speed and the chances of his picking up more velocity in the future. He is going to get a lot of serious interest as he continues to grow and get better. Anthony is a good student.
