Landon Bennett is a 2007 OF/P with a 6'3'', 185 lb. frame from Duluth GA, who attends Greater Atlanta Christian HS. He has an angular athletic body that has lots of room to get stronger. Bennett has a nice range of solid tools. He runs well for his size at 7.10 and showed very nice range in the outfield, including the ability to leave his feet to make plays. His arm strength is solid from the outfield as well and should improve with better throwing mechanics. Bennett's swing from the right side is simple, quick and balanced. He stays inside the ball very well, especially for his size, and has the bat speed to drive the ball to the gaps. When Bennett gets stronger we could see some real power developing; he projects very well has a hitter. Bennett is an aggressive hitter who can fight off pitches and get around on a good fastball. He also showed nice baserunning instincts. Bennett also pitched some and threw 82-84 mph with a 73 mph curveball. His delivery is similar to his hitting approach, simple and on-line. Bennett's best pitch was his curveball, which has a sharp downer break and he likes to use it to close out hitters after getting ahead with his fastball. Bennett is a player we can really see developing in the future. Very good follow.
