Joseph Froelich -- Froelich is a very slender 6-1 junior southpaw with a big league pitching style. He has a smooth, easy delivery with excellent balance and has above average command of all his pitches. Froelich’s fastball was between 77 and 80 with some sink and tail at the end and he did a good job moving this pitch in and out. His best pitch was a 64-66 mph curveball that had a hard, late break. We will say that Froelich was tipping his curveball with his outside finger on his glove hand, but a former big league pitcher was scouting the game for us and pointed it out, so it wasn’t readily obvious. Froelich’s 66 mph change also had good quality to it. If he can gain some strength and velocity, Froelich is going to be at worst a very good college pitcher because he has all the skills, command and approach already in place. He is a very good student
