Cote is a 5-8, 170 lb infielder from Florida. He ran the 60 in 7.77 on the slow track and threw an impressive 84 mph during infield workouts. Cote’s infield fundamentals fielding the ball, particularly his hand position, needs some work but his arm strength stood out. He does set up well to throw. Cote lists catcher as a secondary position and he may profile better for that position with his physical tools and build. Cote looked like a mature hitter at the plate with good plate discipline and a sound approach. He is a contact type of hitter who will hit the ball where it’s pitched. Cote also pitched a couple of innings and showed good arm strength from the mound as well. He was steady at 79-81 mph and had a big sweeping 67 mph curveball that was effective for him. He has a chance to contribute at a high level.
