Donovan usually pitches in the 86-88 mph range and we were looking at him to perhaps be one of the hurlers to touch 90 in Chapel Hill. It wasn’t his day, though, as he topped out at 84 mph. Donovan has a smooth, very projectable arm action and body with a stylish southpaw delivery. His curveball was a little soft at 67 mph but had nice spin and break to it. We’re looking forward to seeing him again in the near future. His arm works very well without tension. He could be a real sleeper. He has a good solid 6'2/190 body.
