2004 South Top Prospect Showcase
Jake Broumley is a 2006 from Sulphur Springs, TX. Broumley is a slender and live bodied young left hander who showed some solid tools and skills that could blossom should he be able to add some additional strength. Broumley hits from a narrow stance with little load and stride and has a simple downward swing that’s short to the ball. The ball jumped really well off Broumley’s bat in BP, and he had two doubles against live pitching, so our first impressions are that this young prospect has some good hitting ability. He runs well on the bases and in the outfield. Broumley also pitch a couple of innings and showed some potential. His arm works very smoothly and he threw his fastball 78-80 mph. Broumley’s change up was a quality pitch and his curveball has good spin on it. Jake is a very good student.
