2023 Carolina Top Prospect Games (Tues-Wed)
Jack Crump is a 2025 MIF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Norwood, NC who attends South Stanly. Medium lean frame with some wiry strength and time to add overall size and strength. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.96 seconds. Primary position IF, showing really quick feet and excellent first step to get into his angles. Plays low and presents the glove out front with smooth glove action. Secures the ball well and has a feel for the spot. Longer arm action with throws up to 79 mph across the diamond. Secondary RHP, working from the full windup in the middle of the rubber. Stationary hands at the belly as he works into an abbreviated leg lift and gets down the mound quickly in his legs. Deep inline arm path as he accelerates through a 3/4 arm angle. Competes in the zone with his fastball that peaked at 81 mph that stayed true through the zone. Breaking ball with some tilt that had slider action in the mid-60s. RHH starting from a wide and slightly open stance and bigger leg lift to start. Gets to his front side aggressively. Good handset as he works his hands from high to low. Worked the bottom of the ball quite a bit, just not on time early in the round. Some barrel whip and should be better with added strength. Tremendous student as well.
