LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2004 National Underclass Dec 28-30
De la Noval is a young and very slender sophomore infielder from Miami. He ran the 60 in 7.74 and threw 76 mph across the infield during drills. De la Noval has nice infield actions and soft hands and his arm looks like it is projectable and should get stronger as he matures physically. If he can improve his speed and foot quickness, shortstop might be an option. De la Noval also made an outstanding defensive play at third base during one of the showcase games. De la Noval hits from a balanced stance with a knee lift trigger that causes him to drift to the ball. He showed some bat head skills during the games with a couple of good hits but would obviously benefit from additional strength. Overall, De la Noval’s defensive skills are very nice for his age and he should keep improving if he gets stronger.
