Angelo Velez is a 2024 3B/1B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Mastic Beach, NY who attends William Floyd. Medium build with good present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a hanging front leg trigger, tends to get out front early with an aggressive dive into contact, has some strength at contact when he's able to stay back, looking to lift the ball, has the strength and bat speed to continue to improve with timing adjustments. 5.23 runner in the forty. Primary third baseman on defense, has good fundamental step by step actions, gets on top of his throws well, stays balanced and makes accurate throws. Also plays some first base. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
