Nathan Clark is a 2024 OF/RHP with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from White River Junction, VT who attends Hartford. Medium, compact frame with some present lower half strength and room to physically mature. Recorded a 7.65 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary outfielder with a developing defensive skill set. Fields out in-front, stays behind the baseball to build some momentum into release and works into a short, compact arm action. Recorded accurate throws with carry up to 77 mph during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Incorporates compact mechanics into balance with minimal leg lift and good stride out to foot strike. Fastball worked in the upper-60s for most of the outing, creeping into the low-70s at times and topped out at 72 mph from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Pitches to contact with fastball and mixed in varying shaped breaking ball that generated weak contact and empty swings. Flashed short 10-4 shape to the breaking ball and manipulated depth to it at times. Proficient strike thrower that sequences fairly well, sinking it to both sides of the plate effectively and landing the breaking ball. Deceptive slot with some velocity upside as he continues to add strength. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly closed stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and hover trigger. Hands driven swing with minimal weight shift into contact, incorporates rotational lower half mechanics and developing feel for the barrel. Showed best impact to the middle-of-the field when on-time and in-sync, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.
