Matthew Rangel is a 2027 C/RHP/OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Sammamish, WA who attends Eastlake. Slight frame. Primary catcher, stands straight up out of the crouch but gains quality ground. Tends to throw uphill but was able to get on top and drive a couple towards the end of the round. 1.97 pop time. In the outfield, methodical in approach, fields out front, uphill release with developing carry. Right-handed hitter, sets up in an open bent knee stance. Bat speed is solid with true intent to the opposite field. Clean path that works direct. On the mound, stretch only operation with moderate stroke and three-quarters release. There is linear aspects to the actions down the hill. Timing of the lower half paired with not a ton of true armspeed led to command inconsistencies. Fastball plays true. The breaker is just average for the age. Soft and slurvy with moderate depth. 7.11 60-yard.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
