2023 Sunshine East Showcase
Juan Orozco is a 2024 SS/2B, 3B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Sunshine State Elite Academy. An athletic build with a taller frame. Strength present. Ran a 6.82 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop who had athletic actions with bouncy feet working through his round. He had good balance, and some snatch to the hands as he funneled into the throws. The arm worked, throwing 86 mph across the diamond with accuracy and a good feel to adjusts the slots as needed. A right-handed hitter with a narrow base and good bat speed to work through the zone with intent. He impacted it well to the middle of the field with a physical swing overall. Had some strength at impact and was able to connect and drive it with a good feel for the barrel. Simple operation with the hands around the shoulder and back elbow up. Shifts onto his backside and then is able to work direct to the ball through the zone. Produced an 88 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Good student. Named to 2023 Sunshine East TP List.
