2007 Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase
Michael Faulter is a 2008 RHP/OF/1B with a 6'4'', 220 lb. frame from Huntington NY, who attends Huntington HS. He has a tall, strong build and could get even stronger over the next few years. Faulter throws from a full delivery and has a stiff and hard front side, which makes him throw against himself and often throw uphill. His fastball was 74-76 mph and touched 78 mph with occasional cutting action. Faulter's front side delivery issues make it hard right now for him to get his fastball down in the strike zone consistently. His best pitch was a 72 mph change up that had nice boring life and was consistently down in the strike zone. Faulter's breaking ball was a 64-66 mph curveball that had a short slider type of break with occasional downer break. He could probably modify this pitch into a true slider in the future. Faulter has strength and size and should be able to add velocity with mechanical adjustments. He is a good student.
