John D Mitchell is a 2024 RHP/3B/SS with a 6-2 182 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends St. John XXIII. Medium athletic build with some present strength and more to come. Side step delivery with a medium leg lift, drop and drive mechanics to the plate, over the top arm slot. Fastball worked consistently in the low 90's, topped out at 92 mph with good riding life up in the zone. Throws both a hard curveball and firm slider with similar high spin characteristics, both miss bats effectively, curveball gets some 12/6 shape to it at times. Strike thrower once he settled down and started mixing. Excellent student, verbal commitment to the Air Force.
