Andreas Alvarez is a 2024 RHP/UT with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Largo, FL who attends Northside Christian. Shorter athletic build with good strength in his lower half. Long and loose arm action, gets off line in back, uses his strong lower half well to drive down the mound. Fastball worked in the low 90's and topped out at 94 mph, gets very nice ride at the top of the zone and works above barrels, throws his fastball for strikes. Change up was a very good pitch for him with firmness and late diving action. Slider was his third best pitch, best at higher velocities with better sweep, can get on top of the pitch better and maintain his arm speed through release. Very young for his class. Good student.
