JP Callens is a 2022 OF/1B with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Boca Raton, FL who attends North Broward Prep HS. Large frame with a physical stature and broad shoulders. Very strong build overall. Primary outfielder with long strides and moves through the ball nicely on the backhand. Arm strength recorded up to 82 mph across the bag and shows good accuracy across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with an exaggerated open stance and excellent strength at the point of contact. Downhill swing plane with big jump and carry off the barrel. Shows the ability to backspin the ball to the pull side. Big power upside with the physical tools to do so. Great student. Named to the Sunshine East TP List.
