Brent Sims is a 2023 RHP/2B, 3B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Stockbridge, GA who attends Stockbridge. Tall frame with strong build and present athleticism. Primary right-handed pitcher with clean delivery and full-windup mechanics. Arm works well out front with extension and consistent high three-quarter release tunneling well along pitch types. Well timed release with rhythm and on-line mechanics lead to a lot of strikes. Fastball at 77 mph with arm-side run, late at times through the zone. Curveball secondary at 66-mph with 11/5 break and depth. Ability to stay on top of it and create tight rotation. Secondary infielder with easy agility in the infield, feel for the glove, and quick transfers to throw with athleticism. Throws across the diamond at 74-mph, with present ability to create accurate result from multiple slots. Right-handed hitter with high leg-kick trigger and smooth weight transfer to back-side. Sound rhythm and timing to the swing, creates extension out front producing line-drive result to the middle of the field. Pull-side strength and leveraged result as he went. Projectable operation in all phases. Excellent student. Named to the 2022 Southeast Uncommitted Showcase Top Performer List.
