2023 National Showcase
Matt Hoag is a 2024 LHP/1B with a 6-4 19 lb. frame from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL who attends Ponte Vedra. Long and projectable profile pitcher's build. Works from a slow paced turn and throw delivery with full long arm swing in back, 3/4's to a big higher extended release slot. Fastball topped out at 92 mph with lots of arm side running life, hard dive at times, works low in the zone consistently with his fastball. Threw almost exclusively fastballs this outing, mixed in a rare short breaking slider. Good student, verbal commitment to Florida State.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
