James Asmus is a 2022 1B/LHP, OF with a 6-2 224 lb. frame from New Hyde Park, NY who attends New Hyde Park Memorial. Recorded a 6.85 second sixty-yard dash time. Large, durable frame with tons of physical strength and quick-twitch athleticism. Primary first baseman with plenty of lateral range, clean funnel to field and the ability to change arm slots to throw. Displayed quick turns and accurate throws to the bags, while recording arm strength up to 78 mph across during drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from a wider base with a flat hand set, high back elbow and small forward stride into contact. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics with quick turn of the hips and plenty of present bat speed. Mostly pull-side approach with consistent bat-to-ball skills and the ability to create loud impact. Showcased legitimate power potential throughout his round and should continue to expand his overall hit tool as he matures. Excellent Student. Named to 2021 Perfect Game Northeast Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
