Carsen Wengrovsky is a 2022 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Baiting Hollow, NY who attends St. John the Baptist. Recorded a 7.46 second sixty-yard dash time. Long-limbed frame with room to add strength and fill out. Primary middle-infielder that uses anticipatory footwork into the fielding process, displays a clean funnel out in front and works slightly uphill into the throwing motion. Incorporates developing lateral range to either side, while fielding the backhand cleanly. Recorded arm strength up to 69 mph across the diamond during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Incorporates higher leg kick into balance, short stride out to foot strike and a slight stab on the backside of his arm swing. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 60s for most of his outing, topping out at 66 mph from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with developing command of his two-pitch mix. Mixed in a slower 11-5 shaped curveball that varied in shape and needs to be refined in order to garner swing-and-miss capability. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and small forward stride into contact. Incorporates minimal weight shift into impact, uses a hands driven swing with slightly upward path and developing bat-to-ball skills. Middle-to-opposite field approach with occasional line drives to that side when on-time. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
