Samuel Harris is a 2025 RHP/SS with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Cary, NC who attends Needham Broughton. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary right-handed pitcher, abbreviated windup on the bump with some drop and drive through lower half coming down the slope; athleticism plays on the mound, lands slightly closed with strike foot and works with a short arm action through the back side up to a three-quarters release. Fastball topped out at 87 mph with short running life to arm side, attacks hitters and works to the bottom of the zone comfortably. Creates sharp bite on slider up to 71 mph and shows confidence in the pitch to get some uncomfortable swings. Flashed a changeup which he threw early in counts in upper-70s, maintains arm speed and mixed well. Plays taller in the infield, will continue to refine fundamentals but hands work and can adjust to the hop, quick transfer with solid carry and arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, begins with a balance set up and remains balanced throughout, swings with intent and shows present looseness and bat speed through the zone. Ball jumps off of the barrel, longer path but consistent barreled contact with additional power to unlock moving forward. Very good student. Verbal commitment to North Carolina State.
