Jacob Sams is a 2024 RHP/1B with a 6-4 165 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Winter Park HS. Long frame with room to fill out and add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher who only pitched during the event. Over the head pump with a leg lift at the belt. Sidearm slot with a full arm path which generates a lot of sink and run. Fastball topped out at 82 mph from that slot with a ton of horizontal life. Fastball got up to 22 inches of run. Lots of ground balls to either side and weak, uncomfortable contact. Slider has short bite to it and Sams was adept at landing the pitch on the glove side corner. Two pitch mix and dominated with the fastball. Looks to get quick, weak outs on a consistent basis. Great student.
