Nicolas Vertikoff is a 2022 SS/3B with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Columbus, OH who attends Hilliard Davidson. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary shortstop with smooth, fluid footwork while ranging for and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions at pick up and worked through exchange efficiently. Showed the ability to throw with accuracy from multiple arm slot topping at 71 mph. Left handed hitter with a slightly crouched, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Inside hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane. Stays balanced throughout swing and showed good feel for the barrel. Primarily worked to the middle of the field but showed the barrel control to work to all fields as well.
