Bryant James is a 2026 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Annandale, VA who attends Gonzaga College. Long, lean with tons of athleticism and plenty of projection remaining. Primary shortstop with athletic actions throughout the fielding process. Displayed good lateral range to either side, a clean funnel out in-front and intriguing arm strength across the diamond. Works downhill through the baseball with fluidity and a clean exchange into release. Recorded arm strength up to 84 mph during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with athletic movements down the slope and a fast shoulder. Incorporates a side-step rocker into balance and good lower half engagement into foot strike. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 80s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 85 mph from a lower, extended three-quarters arm slot. Proficient strike thrower that generates tons of sink to the bottom of the strike zone frequently. Huge upside on the mound with more velocity in the tank. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, open stance with tight hands and a small hover trigger. Loose, slightly lofted stroke with good lower half torque, good feel for the barrel and plenty of present bat speed. Calm, controlled swing with ability to use the whole field, flashed gap-to-gap power potential that will continue to expand as he physically matures. Intriguing, young athlete with tons of upside on both sides of the ball.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
