Zion Rose is a 2023 C/OF with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Brother Rice. Very athletic build with loads of present strength, especially in his lower half. Outstanding runner, especially for a catcher, 6.44 in the sixty, looks like a football running back on the bases. Has very good lower half flexibility and quickness behind the plate, sets up low and has lateral agility, has enough arm strength for the position and has a quick release. Could also be a high level defensive outfielder when not behind the plate. Right handed hitter, has a simple timer and trigger and a short and direct swing, very fast hands and big raw bat speed, pull side approach with a dominant top hand at contact. Elite level athlete. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisville. Selected to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
