2022 National Pre-Draft Showcase
Cade Obermueller is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Iowa City, IA who attends City High. Long and wiry build with lots room to fill, plenty of physical development remaining moving forward. Primary left-handed pitcher with a loose and easy delivery, the operation is very smooth and fluid. Slings it from a lower three-quarters slot, has a loose and whippy arm with great arm speed. Closes himself off a bit on the foot strike, creating excellent angle/deception and making for a tough at bat for left-handed hitters. Fastball showed natural cut and was not afraid to get on the hands of right-handed hitters, did a nice job of locating low and inside. Featured a frisbee of a slider with sharp/late sweep across the zone, also flashed a developing changeup. Showed dominant stuff and had an extremely efficient outing. Has two potentially plus pitches in the fastball and slider, really projects well and has a sky-high ceiling. Great student. Iowa commit. Named to the 2022 National Pre-Draft Showcase Top Prospect List.
