Tristan Smith is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Chesnee, SC who attends Boiling Springs. Strong athletic build. Very efficient pitching mechanics, arm is fast and smooth, 3/4's to high 3/4's arm slot with good extension out front. Fastball was up to 95 mph with 2500 rpm spin rates, spotted his fastball well to both sides of the plate, got nice run and sink down in the zone. Curveball showed elite level power and spin, landed his curveball consistently with very good tunneling and over matched national level hitters with the pitch. One of the most dominant performances of the National Showcase. Compares to former Orioles first round pick and PG All-American D.L. Hall. Good student, verbal commitment to Clemson. Named to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
