Jack O'Connor is a 2022 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-5 220 lb. frame from Arlington, VA who attends Bishop O'Connell. Big and strong athletic build. Very compact arm action on the mound, very tight takeaway, big hip turn and generates lots of his velocity from his lower half, more energy at release on his fastball than his secondary pitches. Fastball topped out at 93 mph, mostly straight, can be more aggressive throwing fastballs and challenging hitters with his heat. Threw both a curveball and a slider, used curveball more but slider a better pitch this day with some nice two-plane tilt. Got some sinking life on his change up. Also hit, shows bat speed with an aggressive swing, big separation out front, ball comes off very hard when squared and has big raw power, might have to cut down his aggressiveness in games to get to his power. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Virginia.
