Hill Gainey is a 2023 C/RHP/3B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Gulfport, MS who attends St. Stanislaus. Medium athletic build with good present strength. 7.94 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has sound fundamentals behind the plate, shifts and blocks well and has some lower half quickness and flexibility, solid arm strength with some carry to his throws, projects well defensively. Also plays some third base. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a low hand load, has quick hands and fires them hard, top hand dominant swing that can top spin the ball, works mid field to the pull side and swung the bat well in games with multiple line drive contacts. Also pitched, high leg raise delivery with a catcher's tight 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight, also threw a big slow curveball. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
