2019 Midwest Prospect Showcase
Carter Rohman is a 2020 SS/2B with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Highland, MI who attends Lutheran High School Northwest. Has a tall and slender frame, with some present athleticism and room to fill out and add strength. Primary shortstop that moves with fluidity and has some impressive range in both directions. Has a clean glove, fielding out front with a clean funnel in. Shows an advanced ability to play through the backhand, gaining momentum into gather and making accurate throws across the diamond with present arm strength up to 86 miles per hour. Has an even stance from the right side of the plate, with a high hand set and long toe tap trigger. Shows the ability to impact the baseball, hitting hard line drives back through the middle of the field. Has a line drive barrel plane, and showcases a nice mix of bat-to-ball skills and power. Secondary right-handed pitcher that starts from the windup with a small side step into a belt high leg lift, landing on line at foot strike and staying balanced through finish. Gets some good arm side run to the fastball at 80-to-84 miles per hour, and shows good feel to spin a low-70s slider that is sharp. Shows good command of both pitches in the zone.
