Evan Borst is a 2021 RHP/MIF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Prole, IA who attends Norwalk. Primary right-handed pitcher with a sturdy and compact frame, has present strength and thickness to the build. Comes from a three-quarters slot with a short arm action and quality arm speed. Sat 89-91 mph with solid arm side run to the fastball, pitches exclusively from the stretch. Lands online with good extension and finish to the plate. High effort thrower, consistently challenges hitters, attacks the zone with his fastball and pitches with a bulldog mentality. Flashed a tight curveball at 80 mph with 11-5 movement. Also featured a changeup at 77 mph to complete the three-pitch mix. Closer-type profile at present, generated plenty of swing and miss up in the zone which points to a high spin rate on the fastball.
