Derek Espinoza is a 2022 RHP/MIF, OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Woodbine, GA who attends Camden County HS. Recorded a 7.62 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with a lean build and room to fill out. Primary righthanded pitcher with a longer delivery and a quick arm. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with deceptive life. Works very fast and confident with good presence on the mound. Good approach and attacks hitters. Good command of the breaking ball with tight spin and can land the pitch effectively. 11/5 break and mimics the fastball tunnel out of the hand. Solid two pitch mix. Arm strength plays well from secondary position of the middle infield. Righthanded hitter with a wide base, inward toe tap, and a level swing. Fast hands and gets the barrel out with consistently. Upper half dominant swing with a quicker leg kick. Hands start high before dropping through the load. Looking to elevate. Tremendous student.
