Marcus Beatty is a 2022 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Independence, IA who attends Independence. Strong stocky build with present athleticism. Ran a 7.12 second sixty-yard dash. Showed the ability to work through the ball in the infield with out front funnels and smooth glove actions on the backhand side. Flashed good arm strength with accurate on base carry topping out at 75 miles per hour across the infield. Displayed aggressive actions coming to and through the ball in the outfield while fielding off to the side of the baseball. Creates good momentum into throws with good arm strength topping out at 78 miles per hour from the outfield. Right handed hitter. Employs a upright even stance with a hanging leg lift trigger. Features a fluid naturally elevated bat path. Swings with intent creating good bat speed. Utilizes a middle to pull side power approach looking to drive the ball out of the ball park. Showed good power to the pull side during batting practice and games as well. Also pitched. Uses a small side step to belt high leg kick staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound landing in line with the plate and falling off slightly at finish. Showed a long loose arm action throwing from a high three quarter slot. Flashed a fastball up to 73 miles per hour and a 11/5 curve-ball with good depth up to 61 miles per hour. Excellent student.
