Joe Pierce is a 2019 3B/RHP with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Port Orchard, WA who attends Peninsula HS. Athletic build, good present strength, looks bigger than listed. Primary third baseman but just pitched at this event. Deep arm action in back coming over to a high 3/4's arm slot, bit closed on landing in front, medium effort release. Fastball was steady at 84 mph, topped out at 85, hitters didn't see his fastball well and were consistently behind on it, worked both sides of the plate and challenged hitters. Change up was very good at times, very good arm speed and deception with some dive down in the zone. Developing curveball, tends to cast it in back. Interesting young arm with two present pitches. Good student.
