Aaron Nixon is a 2020 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Mission, TX who attends Mcallen. Strong athletic build, pretty mature physically, especially in the lower half. Two-way prospect. 6.87 runner, has soft hands in the infield with plenty of arm strength across the diamond, third base tools on the infield. Right handed hitter, hits from a deep hand set with a leg lift trigger, barrel wrap to start his swing, long one piece swing, middle of the field contact. Shows his arm strength well on the mound. High leg lift delivery, over the top arm slot with a long arm in back, energy at release, tends to land open and fall to the first base side. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, has been up to 93 mph in the past, short slider with two-plane shape gets off barrels. Developing change up. Entire physical profile/tool sets points to a catcher. Very good student, verbal commitment to Texas.
