Ameron Sheikh Jr. is a 2024 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cypress Christian. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength on build, additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well and shows some range going up the middle, clean glove actions and makes the plays, shows carry on throws across the diamond with some present carry. Stays behind the ball well in the outfield and works through it nicely, sound fielding position, smooth gather and transfer, works to a three-quarters release and shows nice carry and accuracy to the intended base when on top of the ball. Also pitched, worked exclusively out of the stretch, narrow stride coming down the mound, tends to open front side early in release. Works around the zone when remaining on line towards the plate; fastball topped out at 82 mph and showed running life to it, able to miss bats when in the zone while mixing a curveball which he spun well up to 67 mph with big shape. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even base and weight slightly on front side in set up; utilizes a big leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Moves into contact with intent and swings hard, best contact when staying through the ball and working to the middle of the field. Showed jump to the gaps when squared up, gets underneath the ball at times but has strength to continue to unlock moving forward. Excellent student.
