Jayden Melendez is a 2021 C/3B with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Palmetto Bay, FL who attends Westminster Christian. Compact athletic build with good present strength. 6.90 runner in the sixty, has very good quickness behind the plate athletically on defense, quick hands on the exchange, accurate strong arm and likes to throw the baseball, works hard blocking the ball and has good lower half flexibility. Right handed hitter, leg lift trigger that can be late at times, short and quick line drive swing plane, hits out front with a gap to gap approach. Son of Florida International head coach Mervyl Melendez. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Florida International. Selected to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
