Stephen Pelli is a 2018 RHP with a 6-0 215 lb. frame from Arnold, MD who attends St. Mary's HS. Thick broad shouldered build with good present strength. Up tempo delivery with a high leg lift and hip turn, full and loose arm action from a 3/4's arm slot, lands open with his front side, effort at release. Plenty of raw arm strength, topped out at 93 mph, mostly straight, around the strike zone with his fastball. Change up was his best off speed this outing, shows confidence in it and will double up at times with good fading action. Tends to slow arm on curveball. Will take a step forward with better lower half direction leading to more consistent location. Has the arm strength and pitches. Good student, verbal commitment to North Carolina.
