Luke Matheny is a 2015 RHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Chesterfield, MO who attends Westminster Christian Academy. Young athletic build, very projectable physically. Unusually fast arm circle in back, body and arm occasionally get out of sync, high 3/4's arm slot, works downhill. Fastball to 84 mph, throws fastball to spots. Curveball with some 11/5 depth, commands curveball well, hitters don't seem to pick it up well, lots of swing/miss on curveball. Good sinking action on change up, tends to slow arm at times. Projectable young pitcher with some deception, should keep improving. Son of Cardinals manager Mike Matheny. Good student.
