Sterling Hayes is a 2018 SS/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from La Jolla, CA who attends Francis W. Parker HS. Nice athletic build with some present strength and room for more. Right handed hitter, gets loaded to his back side, long and loose tension free swing, good extension through contact, stays timed up will and hits consistent line drives, gap to gap approach. 6.89 runner, fluid polished actions on defense, soft hands, throws have some carry and are accurate, likely a future third baseman as he fills out and gets stronger. Well balanced athlete with strong fundamentals. Good student, verbal commitment to Vanderbilt.
