2003 Sunshine West Showcase
Cisterna is a young 2005 player with the body and power of prospects a year older than him. He has a good strong build and average Major League bat-speed with wood already. His swing works well versus live pitching and he showed loft power in BP. He is a catcher who fits in well at that position. The only area not projected well is foot-speed and his other tools will open the doors to the next level without having blazing speed, especially as a catcher. He showed a strong arm from behind the plate with 78 mph velocity and a 1.99 pop time that he can repeat regularly. He has good stationary actions and balance throughout his game. He blocks and gets dirty and seems to play harder the dirtier he gets. We liked his style and hope to see him in the winter or fall because he is a top follow prospect at the catching position for the 2005 class ! Good student.
