AJ Puk is a 2013 LHP/1B with a 6-7 220 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Washington. Puk has an extra large frame with very long arms and some strength. He has an extremely projectable body with much more strength to come. Puk pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long loose arm action. He has good arm speed and his arm works very easy. Puk has projectable velocity and he pitches with low effort. Puk gets run on his fastball and he spots it well. He also throws a 1/7 curveball with tight spin and good shape to it. He also throws a change up with good sink and deception to it. At the plate, Puk starts from an open stance and maintains balance through his swing. He has very good bat speed with big power and power potential. He also has soft hands around the bag at first. Top level two-way prospect. Signed to Florida, outstanding student.
