Molina is a strong, physically mature 6'3/210 player who has hit successfully at the top levels of youth baseball for years. He has a tall, intimidating stance in the left hand batter’s box with an open stance. In batting practice in Lincoln he was dropping his backside trying to lift the ball out of the park but this isn’t his natural style. During game competition, Molina brought his approach back to the middle of the field and stay down through the ball and hit it hard up the middle and into the left centerfield gap. He flashes big power potential and the ball gets off his wood bat as quick as anyone in high school baseball. Molina has played plenty of shortstop in the past but will likely outgrow that position. He has the hands to play third base very well and he shows good instincts. While he didn't show a plus MLB arm in Lincoln, he does have enough arm strength to make all the throws across the diamond. Molina will go as far as his bat takes him. He has immense hitting potential. Randy can be an impact at any college in America and he's an excellent student.
