It’s never too late to reflect on last week’s PG WWBA World Championship.

As usually is the case, several known and elite prospects performed well on the big stage. There also were several prospects, such as California righthanded pitcher Carlos Salazar, who entered the week as unknowns to some, but left the event suddenly coveted prospects.

In terms of teams in Jupiter, no squad was more impressive than East Cobb Baseball when it comes to elite prospects. Outfielder Josh Hart and shortstop Wesley Jones led the way for the ECB club, while South Carolina commitment and third baseman Travis Demeritte got hot at the plate the last two games of the tournament and showed elite defensive skills. There also was 2014 top prospect and Georgia Tech commitment Kel Johnson.

Here’s an in-depth look at 10 prospects who stood out to me in Jupiter:

TEN PLAYERS TO WATCH

OF Terry McClure (Georgia Tech commit -- 2013) -- Team Elite
It’s easy to see why the Team Elite squad captured a lot of attention last week, as it was full of outstanding players and particularly good prospects. McClure is one of several players who increased his stock with a strong showing in Jupiter, Fla. McClure, an ultra-athletic 6-foot-2, 190-pounder, from Atlanta, and it’ll be interesting to see if he ends up in college. In addition to displaying good defensive skills, McClure hit .444 with seven RBIs for the week, displaying solid pop and excellent speed. McClure is ranked No. 66 nationally by Perfect Game, and that’s a ranking that could improve even more as we get closer to the 2013 MLB draft.
